Tropical Seeds signed an exclusivity agreement to produce, research and develop the markets of Africa, Asia, Oceania, Pacific Ocean island countries and from the Caribbean, with the exception of Cuba.

VISION

Agricultural activities in tropical and subtropical countries worldwide can be sustainable and profitable, regardless of farm size, by incorporating new technologies based on improved forage and legume varieties. These new varieties aim to improve the social and economic conditions of farmers, having a clear, decisive impact on poverty-stricken small-scale farmers and increasing the competitiveness of medium- to large-scale producers, comparable with similar processes in temperate countries. Tropical forage grasses and legumes can be used as an agricultural option for improving production processes for cattle, sheep, deer, goats, pigs, fish, duck, and geese. Animal production can be reconverted from extensive to intensive and become more harmonious and environmentally friendly, which, in turns, improves the ecosystems in currently degraded areas. Forage grasses can be used to prevent and recover degraded areas.

MISSION

• Offer new tropical forage varieties that can increase animal productivity, while being environmentally friendly, regardless of farm size and economic status of farmers.

• Commercialize varieties, after an intensive research process, capable of adapting to different climatic and soil conditions and showing resistance to diseases, pests, drought, and waterlogging.

HISTORY

Our company emerged from the Grupo Papalotla, leader in varietal development for improved sustainable livestock systems in the tropics, subtropics, and mild temperate areas of the world. Semillas Papalotla S.A de C.V., our sister company located in Mexico with over 27 years of experience in the forage seed market, has successfully developed avant-garde technologies and conducted research and genetic improvement of new species. It also commercializes improved pasture seed for tropical and temperate climates for national use, serving both the public and private sectors. It has also placed on the market an exclusive milk substitute, Sprayfo, for use with heifers and heifers for production (Vía Láctea). Research is being conducted at the International Center for Tropical Pastures (CIPAT), located in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, to develop new varieties that satisfy the specific needs of producers. We share the same ideals and are devoted to bringing this new technology to the rest of the world.
