It all started with a seed, today we are sowing for the world.
These improved varieties are returning to the lands of their parents — East Africa — and have had an impact on animal production.
This certainly makes us proud to be part of this success story.
Tropical Seeds in Meru, Kenya - 2019
As part of our internationalization plan we are making our crops known, their high quality and excellent productivity, which makes them an incomparable alternative for the livestock sector. We are in Kenya, where we are checking the great value they have for this country’s livestock, as well as the magnificent adaptation of our pastures in the African continent. Crops that are achieving a notable increase in milk production of small and medium farmers, helping to improve the quality of life in rural areas.
We continue our journey through Kenya. We are in the Meru region, recognized as one of the most milk producing areas in this beautiful country. Our Cayman, MulatoII and Cobra hybrids, as well as our crop, Siambasa, are becoming one of the best alternatives for dairy cooperatives. We are in Chure Dairy Ltd, one of the cooperatives, who have found the great value of these pastures, with which they have obtained surprising results.
We want our seeds to be the grain of sand that in the near future contributes to improve the living conditions of thousands of small livestock farmers throughout Kenya, as well as in other countries of the African continent.
Varieties: MulatoII, Cayman, Cobra, Siambasa, Crescent Sunn.
People: Eduardo Stern, Michael Peter (Head of the Department of Forage at international level), Owe Ohmstedt (scaling up project of CIAT) Aliosha Stern (Tropical Seeds), David Martin (Efecto Soluciones SL) and people responsible for the cooperative and from the communities.
